The newly commissioned Salvation Army Dooralong Transformation Centre is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Senior Case Workers.
These vacancies offer a rare opportunity to engage with a recently merged male and female client base and assist the overall transformation of a well established recovery program as it refines service delivery within a newly created environment.
There are 2 positions currently available within the recently merged Male and Female program streams.
The roles will in part be responsible for overseeing profession specific activities of Case Management and Support Worker staff at the centre. Functions of centre staff include but are not limited to: assessment and referral, education and support of clients both current and recovering from addiction.
The roles assist the Program Director in developing strong networks and partnerships with other agencies.
Functions also include assisting to identify and report existing and or potential systematic gaps in service delivery, thereby assisting overall quality improvement in all areas of recovery practice.
The position may require capacity to work shift rotation and weekends on occasion to meet specific staffing, program or organisational need.
To be successful in the role applicants will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to The Salvation Army values and mission.
Essential Criteria:
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel.
- Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Social Work, AOD Counselling or similar discipline
- Supervisory and mentoring experience
- Current First Aid Certificate (or preparedness to self -fund and achieve this qualification within 6 weeks of employment)
- Current NSW Driver's licence
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in regard to D&A, mental health and or generalist supervision/management
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively contribute to case management planning within a within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated effective critical analysis problem solving, decision making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in computer use
- High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and client behaviours
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement strategies
- Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and approaches.
- Preparedness and capacity to work shifts and weekends if required
